Which mapping features are confirmed?
The official game page describes an automap with custom marks, while the October pre-release update explicitly adds notes on the minimap. The developer suggests marking suspicious walls, places to revisit and unfinished business. Check the current build’s interface rather than assuming every note feature appears in an older demo.

What makes a note useful?
Our suggested format is location, obstacle and next action: for example, a locked passage to revisit after obtaining access, or a mechanism whose response you still need to compare. That is a personal organization method, not a quote of a puzzle solution. Distinguish a tested dead end from an area you simply have not investigated.
How do notes help with puzzles and secrets?
Underkeep’s official description includes hidden walls, alcoves and optional encounters. Record evidence rather than marking every wall as a confirmed secret. After resetting a puzzle, note what changed and which attempts were already made. This turns a return trip into a new check rather than another pass through the same uncertainty.
